Community Food Co-op in ­Bellingham, Wash., opened its second store Jan. 15, 2009. The new site, known as the ­Cordata store, is a 21,000-square-foot, two-story ­facility. Along with bringing 70 new jobs for local community members, the Cordata store will meet U.S. Green Building Council standards for LEED certification. The co-op purchased land for the Cordata store in 2005, and it broke ground in December 2007 for the $9 million project. The co-op’s general manager is Jeff Voltz.
