Cooperative Grocer Finds Its Niche

As the city of Austin, Texas, was warming up for the South by Southwest music extravaganza in March, it held host to a unique gathering of niche magazines from across the country. This first ever Niche Magazine Conference brought together publishers from more than 75 magazines with titles such as: National Oil and Lube News; The Road Ahead; Fender Bender; Farming for Wildlife, Fetch The Paper; Lucky Dog: Going Coastal; The Wind Buzz; Sophisticated Woman; Incident Prevention, Conceive, Veg Times, and, of course, your favorite, Cooperative Grocer.

The two-day, bowling-themed conference featured many wonderful workshops, an evening reception at the biggest bowling alley your intrepid publisher has ever seen, and the first-ever Niche Magazine Awards.

We are proud to announce that Cooperative Grocer magazine held its own with this industry’s giants, and walked away with the The Little Engine That Could Award, given for the best niche magazine, small circulation classification.

The 2008 version of this conference will be held in Austin again, and your newsletter folks may want to check it out. Go to NicheConference.com
