Crossroads Cooperative Summit 2016 with Caitlin Quigley

Concern for Community – Focus on the Philadelphia Area Cooperative Alliance (PACA)

The heart of the co-op beats with its service to community. Cooperatives from across the country will share experiences of how their cooperatives fulfill Principle 7—support for their communities.

Registration is now open for the ICDC Crossroads Cooperative Summit, November 3, 2016, in Indianapolis. The annual CCS is an exciting opportunity to network with fellow cooperators.

One session, with speaker Caitlin Quigley, will focus on the Philadelphia Area Cooperative Alliance (PACA), a cooperative whose members are co-ops in the Philadelphia region. Caitlin Quigley ia a PACA co-founder and director of PACA's communications, education, and development.

PACA's mission is to improve the lives of people in the Philadelphia region by supporting democratically organized businesses, promoting the principles of the international cooperative movement, and growing the cooperative economy.

In April 2016, Caitlin was named one of 37 national winners of the Knight Foundation Cities Challenge for her project idea 20 Book Clubs → 20 Cooperative Businesses. The program, which uses study circles to form new co-ops, launched in September at PACA.
