NCBA CLUSA's 2016 Consumer Cooperative Management Association (CCMA) Conference will be held June 9 - 11, 2016 in Amherst, Massachusetts at the University of Massachusetts.  The conference is co-hosted by members of the Neighboring Food Co-op Association, with Franklin Community Co-op and River Valley Co-op as primary local hosts.
 
The theme of this year's conference is "Disrupting the Future: Cooperative Food and the Next Generation", with a significant focus on how to challenge leadership in this sector to address diversity and inclusion through their cooperative businesses.
About the Bowers Fund
 
The purpose of the Bowers Fund is to strengthen the food co-op community through the training and education of food co-op staff, managers, and board members. While contributions are raised through events at CCMA and other fundraising activities, we welcome donations at any time! 
 
 If you are coming to CCMA, please consider bringing an item or two for the silent auction!
The Howard Bowers Fund Silent Auction at CCMA is the fund's biggest fundraiser of the year. 
 
Auction items range from co-op t-shirts, reusable shopping bags, gift baskets, and "swag" items, to complimentary registrations to the top co-op conferences! Please consider a donation that showcases your co-op. 
 
Your donation will support training for cooperative boards and staff at CCMA and throughout the year.Donations to the event will be advertised on the CCMA website and social media.
 
Since its establishment in 1994, the Howard Bowers Fund has provided over $390,000 in support for food cooperatives through the support of board and staff training of new and established co-ops and scholarships to CCMA and the Up & Coming Food Co-op Conference. Over 25 people will be attending CCMA in Amherst because of a scholarship!
