Sustainable Food Trade Association Improves Food Chain Practices

Continues to Advance Sustainability

The Sustainable Food Trade Association continues its work to advance sustainability and transparency in the organic food industry. At its February 2015 annual meeting the Association elected two new members to its board of directors, which now includes representatives from three cooperatives: PCC Natural Markets, Organic Valley, and Chico Natural Foods Co-op.

The Association executive director is Katherine Dimatteo; the new board president is Jason Boyd, sustainability manager at Nature's Path Foods. An organizational priority for 2015 is examining what the organic industry can do to mitigate harmful effects of climate change.
