Excellent Resources from Organic Conferences

Even if you missed recent key conferences on organics, you can get audio recordings of the many valuable speakers and workshop discussions. Two major annual gatherings of organic farmers and educators, from a range of nonprofits and businesses, offer many excellent resources: the Organicology conference, held in Eugene, Oregon; and Upper Midwest Organic Farming conference, held in LaCrosse, Wisconsin. Several hundred attendees attended Organicology on February 10-12, and nearly three thousand attended Upper Midwest Organic Farming on February 24-26. For the Organicology speakers, intensives, and workshops, a jump drive can be ordered and will give you audio recordings for $40: http://www.organicology.org/organicology/Audio_Recordings.html The Organicology website also will offer online versions of workshops and presentations. For the Upper Midwest Organic Farming, sponsored by MOSES (Midwest Organic and Sustainable Education Services), recordings of speakers and workshops will be available as well (though not yet posted as of 3/04/2011). The 2010 conference speakers and workshop presenters were offered in 2 Zip files for $35; in addition, the Northeast Organic Farming Association conference contents are also offered: http://organicvoices.com/organic-voises-store. Look for the 2011 conference contents to be posted at that site very soon.
