The Indiana Cooperative Development Center (ICDC) is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that promotes cooperatives as a vibrant model to address the economic and social needs of Indiana’s communities. It began offering services in 2003 and was incorporated in 2006.

ICDC provides assistance to a wide variety of cooperatives including food, agricultural, arts and crafts, childcare, energy, and housing with startup, management, and other technical assistance. It also provides training opportunities designed to bring together groups of people involved in the same type of cooperative development such as our Up and Coming Up and Running start-up conference for food cooperatives. 

ICDC hosts a Cooperative Summit designed to raise the profile of the cooperative business model and to bring together cooperatives across industry sectors for networking.

ICDC staff has extensive cooperative, small business and community development experience. As a small nonprofit, ICDC also draws on the resources of qualified consultants who have applicable industry or cooperative expertise.
