About the position The Finance Coordinator ensures fiscal responsibility in co-op operations, ensures that co-op finances conform to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles;  while providing financial information and analysis to the GM in charge of Finances, to support achievement of co-op objectives.

Status: Non- Exempt. Full-Time, Base Wage: $18-$20/ hour. Compensation will be determined on experience.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate preparation of capital, operation and cash budgets, and financial portions of business plans

  • Monitor deviations from budget, inform General Manager or appropriate individuals and teams and recommend corrective action.

  • Provide monthly/quarterly/annual sales, margin, and inventory reports and financial analyses of current operations and projections for future scenarios

  • Organize and prepare the end of quarter and end of year reports with collected data, publish in appropriate channels of communication after GM approval

  • Prepare and disperse all appropriate tax forms to employees, vendors or member-owners at the end of the year, while also ensuring that all quarterly and yearly taxes, fees and payroll withholdings are paid on time

  • Process department invoices and miscellaneous store invoices appropriately and according to finance coordinator procedure.


  • Full-charge bookkeeper or financial management experience and/or some form of accounting, business, or finance education.

  • At least 2 years bookkeeping experience

  • Ability to interpret financial reports for individuals with varying levels of financial knowledge

  • Highly proficient in computer literacy, including very strong skills using spreadsheets, accounting software (Quickbooks), email, and word processing, and proficient keyboard skills.

    • Must possess an advanced working knowledge and understanding of Microsoft Excel.

  • Experience in developing and monitoring budgets
