Kitchen Manager

Love cooking? Have a passion for high quality local and whole foods? Bluff Country Co-op is seeking a qualified Kitchen Manager to join our management team. This person should have both kitchen and managerial experience, be excited about making good food from scratch, be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment, and have a positive attitude.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the preparation, seasoning, and cooking of soups, salads, sandwiches and hot bar items.

  • Plan menu, taking into account locally seasonal ingredients.

  • Price menu items, order supplies, and keep records and accounts.

  • Supervise kitchen staff.

  • Create staff schedule.

  • Recruit, hire, and train staff.

  • Collaborate with Marketing Manager to promote products.

  • Monitor sanitation practices to ensure that employees follow standards.

  • Arrange for equipment purchases and repairs.

  • Determine how food should be presented.

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.
