Quincy Natural Foods is a community-owned food co-op established in 1985, which now operates two store locations and has approximately 2,100 active members.

In 2013, Quincy was named #8 on the annual list of America's Coolest Small Towns, compiled by Budget Travel. Quincy was the only town in California to make the top 10 list based on public votes. Nestled against the western slope of the Sierra Nevada Mountain range, Quincy is the largest community in Plumas County, with a population of almost 6,000 people. It is located midway between Oroville and Reno on State Route 70, at the top of the Feather River Canyon.

Quincy’s Feather River College is one of the few community colleges in California that offers a Bachelor's Degree program.  Plumas County has a rich, longtime cultural tradition of arts and performances, including a thriving county fair, farmers’ markets, and several popular music festivals.

Plumas County visitors and locals enjoy first-class mountain biking, hiking, rafting, kayaking, boating, fishing and other recreational opportunities.  Cross-country skiing and snowmobiling are popular winter sports.
